NOT WEBINARS, BUT EXPERIENCES.

With the return of the dire restrictions imposed by Covid-19, which limit in-person training, the choice of sessions delivered remotely becomes mandatory.

My goal is to overcome the limitations of webinars, and keep alive, even in a remote setting, active learning, engagement, empathy and exchange amongst participants, and why not, the fun of a gathering out of the ordinary.

For this reason my program, delivered on the major Virtual Meeting platforms (Zoom and Microsoft Teams), is designed as a real Interactive Virtual Classroom and includes dynamic interactions in plenary, Q&A via chat, exercises in break-out rooms, polls, videos.

All this to gift the participants with an intense and memorable session; a necessary prerequisite for a really effective learning process.

I'm Edoardo Sala,
and I'm a Business Communication Strategist.

That's why I strive with passion, making sure that my presentations are nothing short of extraordinary.

I've graduated at the Drama Centre London, one of the most prestigious Academies of Dramatic Arts in the United Kingdom and I've had an international experience as a professional actor both in theatre, TV and cinema.

For many years I've been lending my profound knowledge of verbal and non-verbal communication and my public speaking skills at the service of corporate firms, startups, marketing and sales teams, and entrepreneurs.

BUSINESS CASE - 1

The Leadership Program (EN)

September 2020 | Ongoing

THE WHAT.

Thirty managers, selected among the most promising talents in the UniCredit managerial landscape, will try their hand at a series of TED-style events.

Through a short, relevant, and personal story, each participant develops one of the three topics selected by the UniCredit HR and Talent Development Division to acquire the Power Skills necessary to achieve effective Leadership and a persuasive Business Communication style.

THE WHY.

The goal is to break away from the purely performative approach of Public Speaking, using it instead as a communication key to unlock the potential of the most talented resources, allowing them to:

  • Acquire and develop their own unique, original Leadership Voice
  • Discover a new paradigm and use new skills and new tools to radically increase the quality and effectiveness of one's persuasive communications
  • Develop the ability to analyze your specific audience and to identify and achieve the desired strategic goal every time
  • Strengthen one's credibility in different persuasive contexts and present with excellence.

THE HOW.

We divide them into three groups for a total of three events throughout 2020.

Each group faces a training day (initially designed as face-to-face, then transformed into a Virtual Class, outlined to maintain an effective Active Training and Learning By Doing approach).

Each participant develops his talk in five hours of One To One coaching, faces a day of dress rehearsal, and then the event (initially on stage, it's been then transformed successfully into a virtual event with a remote streaming of the talks) in front of the entire internal audience of UniCredit.

The Virtual Workshop (EN|IT)

February/November 2020 | Ongoing

THE WHAT.

A program of courses, redesigned to face the restrictions of Covid-19.

I structured an intense virtual workshop of a full day, which I've explicitly designed for their strategic presentations' characteristics.

The aim is to achieve persuasive effectiveness in contexts such as the Executive Boardroom, where conciseness and relevance integrate to meet the Top Management needs.

.THE WHY.

The Senior Consultants of Business Integration Partners offer a wide range of traditional and innovative consulting services to different sectors.

In the customer acquisition process and in accompanying the customer to achieve the desired result, the consultants' ability to communicate is fundamental.

Delivering their specific competence in a simple, clear, effective, and memorable way allows them to build trust and mutual loyalty with the customer.

The refinement of the ability to present proposals and projects through Storytelling, Data Storytelling, and Public Speaking Delivery techniques becomes a strategic competitive advantage:

  • They communicate competence in a more straightforward, more effective, and efficient way, with a consequent reduction in decision-making times.
  • They display their content with greater security and presence, contributing to a further increase of Bip's Brand Equity, aligning the customer's perception with the consulting's high value.

Bip consultants learn these techniques and use them in their everyday operational activities, maximizing and communicating their high skills' competitive advantage.

THE HOW.

We divided the eighty consultants trained so far into one-day Virtual Classes (15 participants).

I made the sessions engaging by using various active teaching methods (videos, surveys, chats, and break-out rooms on Zoom / Teams).

We could identify the relevant issues in such an interactive setting, addressing and solving them together in the plenary session.

BUSINESS CASE - 3

The Transformative Event (EN)

February 2o2o I Delivered

THE WHAT.

I coached nine managers (the EMEA VP, four Directors, and four Senior Executives) of Boston Scientific's New Cardio division and I helped design the content of their most important annual presence event, the Divisional Sales Meeting held in February 2020 in Port Aventura.

THE WHY.

After the previous edition (Opio 2019), we felt the need to improve the event's transformative impact in close collaboration with Boston Scientific Marketing & Communication team.

It was essential to involve their Sales Divisions in the upcoming, ambitious Digital Transformation project that will lead to numerous changes, impacting many business processes.

Having a full understanding of the impact of the ongoing change, ensuring the different teams' engagement, and obtaining their active collaboration was the goal.

The event had to be not only exciting but also innovative.

Therefore, I recommended abandoning the classic structure (the succession of individual autonomous presentations) and designed a unique presentation where all the speakers were on stage simultaneously.

The relevant messages would intertwine without losing coherence and relevance.

The result was that of a simple, clear, original, and energetic message, delivered not by individual functions, but by the entire organization.

THE HOW.

To achieve our objective I devised the following preparation phases:

  • A one-day training session for the speakers and the Marcom Team allowed them to master the necessary blocks of Presentation Skills (Ideation, Storytelling, and Delivery).
  • Two days were devoted to the event design with the speakers and the Production Team.
  • I customized four hours of remote One To One coaching for each speaker.
  • I led two sessions of rehearsal, and I supported all the speakers during the two days event.

It was a success and we are now planning a fully Virtual Event, scheduled for the first quarter of 2021.

BUSINESS CASE - 4

The Team Building Program (IT)

July 2020 | Ongoing

THE WHAT.

For thirty resources of Enel's Group Strategy division,

I customize Ideas on Stage's Business Presentation Revolution program in collaboration with Franklin Covey™️ Italy.

The objectives set for the participants are as follows:

  • To assimilate the creative process and produce successful and relevant Business Presentations for different audiences.
  • To practice innovative techniques to devise and structure their critical messages.
  • To achieve awareness of the slides' importance.
  • To learn how to build a presentation or document enhancing, instead of replacing, therefore frustrating, their persuasive message.

I suggest a hybrid intervention where the Virtual Presentation Skill workshop is combined with a meeting in presence.

The participants share in plenary a strategic presentation, conceived, structured, illustrated, and tested in small working groups.

THE WHY.

In the disruptive scenario caused by Covid-19, the emergency transition to Remote Working puts a strain on employees' production capacity and balance, forcing them to overlook their personal renewal spaces.

They need to acquire Power Skills that radically improve their communication skills in new and challenging contexts (virtual meetings, face-to-face meetings, presentation of projects to colleagues, managers, and executives).

Still, at the same time, they want to take the opportunity to stay and work altogether, sharing the creative process with the group.

They are not satisfied with the intellectual understanding of the mindsets, skillsets, and toolsets made available. They want to put them into practice, giving each other support during the scheduled plenary meeting.

In compliance with safety regulations, the meeting will allow them to enjoy the group's energy in a lively atmosphere that combines the playful aspect with the didactic one.

THE HOW.

The participants are divided into two groups (each with 15–18 participants connected via Zoom platform) and actively learn the necessary skills in two half-day Virtual Classes and two meetings in presence.

In the first Virtual Class (4 hrs.) They deal with the preparation, design, and structuring of key messages.

In the second Virtual Class (4 hrs.) They learn the fundamentals of Slide Design and effective Delivery elements, analyzing the differences between presentations in a face-to-face context and those in a virtual setting.

In the plenary session, we evaluate the results of the application of what we have learned through the analysis of the participants' presentations.

We collect feedback, points of growth and improvement and identify the practices that allow us to achieve excellence in Delivery.
